How to ask name ?

Dears Asalam o alikum,

How to ask some one's name in Arabic, In English there is no different for male or female Like we can say " What is your name ? " but in Arabic there is different, which is below.

From male you should ask " shoo ism-ak " also you can say ( ayes ismak)

From female you should ask " shoo ism-ik " also you can say ( ayes ismik)

Now how to ask that you know Arabic or not.

From male you should ask " tefham 9arabee "

From female you should ask " tefhameen 9arabee "

From two or more then two peoples you should ask " tefhamoon 9arabee "

If you know Arabic then you should reply as below

"na9am" means "Yes"

or

"na9am shwaiy" means "Yes, i know but little"

If you don't know then you can say.

"la" means "No"
